Most normal people view Glenn Beck as either a rightwing lunatic or a megalomaniac or both. Some view him as an idiot and those who follow him as bigger idiots. True on all accounts. But, what Glenn Beck is doing is actually pretty sophisicated and pretty Satanic (yes, Glenn Beck is in league with Satan and Beck is probably an anti-Christ).
What is it that Glenn Beck is doing? What Beck is doing is infusing patriotism, nationalism, American history and Mormonism into his TV and radio shows and books. Yet, Beck isn't promoting anything true, he is promoting a bunch of falsehoods that appeals to rightwing Christians--rightwing Christians, who I might add are a large part of Beck's audience--http://www.quantcast.com/glennbeck.com
Some alleged rightwing Christians are promoting not only Beck, but the authors he supports to a wider Christian audience. These reichwingers are basing it that Beck is promoting "true American history" and that it is "Christian based". This is a good example of how Satan works. America is not in the Bible. We weren't based on Christianity as a country, Thomas Jefferson clearly wanted to keep religion and politics separated.

Yet, Beck and his followers which include many rightwing Christians don't believe in this and want to and have rewritten history. But, Barton's book full of lies does at least two things--it is an avenue for rightwing Christians to believe in a false history of America that they want to believe in and Glenn Beck gets the credit for promoting this history of "true American values". What Beck is doing is creating a following, not from Mormons, but from a group that wields true power--the Christian Right. And the Christian Right is crazy enough to go out and protest and attack people as a true believer in their cause. A cause that Glenn Beck creates through books, TV and radio.

Why would Beck do that? His audience still take the books as "truth" even though it is a bunch of paranoid writings. But, Beck does it to draw in more rightwing Christians. Beck is getting traction with many rightwing "Christian" leaders in the USA--John Hagee; Harry Jackson; James Robinson; David Barton and probably had a hand influencing Franklin Graham to drop Mormonism as a cult from their website.

John 8:44 sums up Glenn Beck quite well:

Those alleged Christians who buy into and follow Glenn Beck are trying to serve two masters. One is Jesus and the other is Satan. By what these alleged Christians have shown us, they really are following Satan and paying lip service to Jesus.
